September schedule…

August 28th, 2008

Okay folks…here is the schedule for September as I have it.  If you are going to be gone or need to switch with someone, please let me know as soon as possible.  I would like to switch within the two teams if you are going to be gone.  That seems to be working out the best.  Also, I don’t want to ruin everyone’s holiday weekend so our September practice will NOT be this Sunday on Labor Day weekend, but WILL be Sunday September 7th at 4:30 p.m.  At that time we will be having a run-through of the music for the rest of the month of September.  This run-through is designed for the singers, but as always band members are welcome and encouraged to attend.  Have a wonderful holiday weekend!!!!

Let me know…

August 13th, 2008

Just wondered what you all thought of the quizzical countdown a couple of weeks ago?  Thinking of putting a Bible Trivia one up!  Give me a shout if you liked it or not, Thanks!

Well, whaddya think??

July 28th, 2008

So, whaddya think about the new look Russ is sporting.  Nah, I’m not talking about his goatee!  I’m talking about his new microphone!!  It is very exciting and much less frustrating for Russ, me, and everybody in the sound booth now that we have a wireless mic that works all the time.  Our hope is that you’ll be less distracted from the message by whether or not Russ’ mic is working.

It really is wonderful to look among the congregation on Sunday morning and see you all singing and worshipping.  I wonder what our worship looks like to God.  In Revelation 5:8, John writes that the four living creatures and the 24 elders hold golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.  God cares so much about our prayers that they are held and are sweet incense to him!  Sometimes it is difficult to focus my prayer time ( I can’t even blame that on my little ones!).  Do you ever feel like your prayers are bouncing off the ceiling?  This is proof that that isn’t happening!  Our prayers are reaching the ears of God.  It says so, right in your Bible!

Worshipping the King,

Andrea

August schedule…

Andrea

Our 2-minute meeting…and who made those pickles????

July 14th, 2008

Ok -so, if you missed our 2 minute meeting after first or second service because you were out of town here is the rundown of what was discussed.  If you have any questions, please ask me as soon as possible…

1.  Remember the Thurs/Sun rule - If you don’t practice on Thursday night then you can’t sing on Sunday morning.

2.  Please try to give me at least 24 hours notice if you aren’t going to be able to be on the team or at a rehearsal so that I can find a replacement for you.

3.  Rehearsal times are 6:30 pm on Thursday night for Band/Sound/Computer 7:00 for Singers. 7:30am for everyone on Sunday morning.

4.  If you have a problem be it with me or the music or well, just anything, please remember that my door is always open and it is better to talk about things now than it is to wait until later.

5.  Please be in prayer about your commitment level and ask God to work in your heart about increasing that commitment.

That’s it in a nutshell.  I hope you are all doing well.  If you weren’t able to come to Neverland on Sunday night you really missed it.  I am awesome at P-I-G (hee hee)!  BTW - who made the homemade pickles and brought them???  Those were soooo good!!!!  Hope to see you at the next one!

Recap and news on the homefront…

July 10th, 2008

Well, first off I need to remind everyone that we will be having a short meeting after each service this Sunday.  Since last Sunday was the weekend of the fourth we decided to postpone the meeting until this week.  I made notes so as not to take up too much of your time.

Things are really starting to shape up in our neck of the woods after the flooding.  We were in quite a mess for a while and it really was stinky, but that is better now.  I appreciate all the well wishes and prayers during that crazy time.

I’m excited about where our church is headed.  As we fellowship together during Neverlands our bonds with each other seem to be getting stronger.  Summer is such a crazy time with everybody going so many different directions and it is difficult to stick to schedules but I’m doing the best I can to keep things moving forward in the Worship Ministry.  Some interesting changes are coming that will help us bond together better as teams and I am looking forward to that as well.

Have a great day!  See ya on Sunday!

Andrea

A call to order…(A.K.A. - we need to meet)

July 1st, 2008

It has come to my attention that we, as a whole worship team (singers, band, sound, and computer), need to meet to go over a couple of things.  So, I am calling a meeting for the worship team after each service on Sunday to go over some items quickly.  We will meet very for a few minutes in the front after 1st service and after 2nd service so as not to miss anyone!  I would appreciate everyone’s cooperation and I will try not to take up much of your time.  Thanks so much!

Wow…VBS…

June 5th, 2008

What more can you say…wow…VBS, what a blessing.  It was so awesome to serve at our community VBS!  Sure there were some hiccups and things that we will learn from for next year, but how awesome to share with children who might not otherwise be able to get to VBS at New Hope, Bethany, or Antioch because of our locations.  For many of these children VBS will be their only encounter with Jesus Christ until they reach adulthood and we are so blessed to be God’s ambassadors even in  our own community.  I know all of you who gave of your time and energy are exhausted, but just think, the seeds that were planted this week WILL be harvested because the Bible says that God’s Word will not come back void.  These kids needed to see how exciting it is to be a Christian, and we had such a limited amount of time to pack all that love and excitement into just a few hours this week.  Now, comes the part we didn’t expect…kids are so perceptive…remember they will see you out in our community.  They will remember you even if you don’t remember them.  We have to be sure to guard against Satan using us or a situation that we are put in to tear down what was built up this week.  We need to continue to pray for the little souls that were reached this week.  I hope you all made some new friends this week too, just like the kids did.  I know I did.

Just so you all know, I plan to have the kids from New Hope perform 2 songs from VBS on Father’s Day during both services.  So make sure you invite all your family members to come watch them!

Have a great weekend! - Until next time we blog…
