congratulations

July 20th, 2008

Hey, Here is a shout out to a camper of the week from the teen Ministry. This teen went to the High school week of camp and received a camper of the week scholarship to Ozark Bible College! It was the largest scholarship given last week to the tune of 16 cedit hours paid for or $6,000.  WE are all pumped out it!

Are you dying to know who it is????     Congrats Eric Wadsworth!

We are going to have a blast this week at Jr High 2 week of camp. Our theme is “Dare you to Move”. We are looking at the book of Joshua. I am pumped. My dean team and I plan this puppy for a year!

Have a great week!

wow how time flies

July 10th, 2008

I can’t believe summer is half over.  Camp is almost here, and School starts before we know it.

We have been having a great summer! CIY was awesome! I am really proud of how seriously the CIY teens are taking their walk with God.  We recently finished our study of the Book of Jonah on Wednesday night. Wow, what a study! We are going to  start a new study as soon as school starts.

I am getting geared up for two weeks of Camp Illiana. The High school week starts Sunday, July 13th. It will be a good week for high school students to get away and let God work on them. (by the way, it is not too late to sign up)  My junior high week starts Sunday July 20th. We are going to have an absolute blast that week!  (by the way, it is not to late to sign up)

Well, until next time,  God Bless!

Calling all spring breakers….

March 24th, 2008

Hey, have you ever noticed that people take crazy trips on school breaks now. I can easily name 10 people who are on cruises or something fun like that. Just to let you all know, there are still people here! (ME!)  This year was a little depressing for me personally. With Easter being at the beginning of break, there were alot of people who missed services around the country just to get that head start  for the vacation. However, most of these folks didn’t find a place to worship.  So, my challenge to you is this, don’t let spring break turn into a God break. The same God that watches you here, sees you in the Bahamas or Cancun.

If you are still in Washington….lol, we are having Wednesday night Biblestudy at 7 pm. Also, teens, if you are bored, give me a call! We will do something!

YYYYOOUUUUUTTTTTHHHH SSSSSSUUUUUNNNDDDDDDAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!!

March 10th, 2008

As you can tell, I am excited for youth Sunday this upcoming weekend. I am looking forward to see how God will use this service to help get teen out of their comfort zones, and possibly the church congregation too. The teen ministry does thing a little different that the adult worship service, but don’t worry. We are definitely respecting the service times, flow, and the people we are ministering to this weekend. Come and check it out. It is going to be a busy day!

That night, following the Easter egg hunt with the children, the teen ministry is going to be hosting “The Coffee House” for the adult ministry. This is a fundraiser for the teens that are going to CIY this summer. Please come out and enjoy some music, comedy, refreshments and deserts, and most importantly show you support for the teens going to our conference this summer! It all starts at 6 pm!

Whats going down (on) in the TM….

February 16th, 2008

Hey all!

We are backing up the registration dealine for CIY Conference June 15-19th! The Deadline is now Feb.24th! I want everyone who wants  to attend this weekend  to be able to sign up. The cost is$250 total. There is a$50 registration deadline to reserve your spot.  I can’t tell you how much this week will help a teen’s spiritual walk.

Another thing I am really excited about it that today I am picking up Bibles for our youth group! These Bibles are so cool. They are the Quest NIV Study Bible. This Bible has cross referencing in the form of questions. For example, if we are studying a passage talking about clean and unclean food, over to the side would be a question saying something like, “What would make food unclean?.” Then it would tell you an answer and show  you were to go to find even more information about that topic. So cool huh?!  I really hope that we can really get in depth with these Bibles.

Anyways, until next time

January 23rd, 2008

Hey again all!

This past weekend we opened up the registration for CIY summer conference. The theme this year is called “MOVE.” I am so pumped for this week. It is June 15-19th in Anderson, IN. I am hoping to take a good group to this. I have made a packet of information to fill you in on what the week is about, and also a cd that CIY offers to show you more about what they do. You can check them out on www.ciy.com. This conference is for upcomming freshman- graduated seniors. The total cost is $250 and we are doing to do a Coffee house donation night on Sunday, March 2nd. I have seen what CIY can do to a teen ministry and I really want this to me a monumental week for ours!

It’s amazing

January 14th, 2008

It’s amazing to find a hill in southern Indiana.  It’s amazing to find a hill in southern Indiana with a Ski facility on it. It’s amazing that you can make snow on the hill even if its fake. It’s also amazing that one can make artificial snow. It’s amazing to be able balance on two sets of slim skis. It’s also amazing how bad it looks when you don’t balance on those two slim skis. Is it amazing that you can travel down the hill with fake snow in Southern Indiana and stop before you reach the creek, or tree line.  But most of all, it is amazing that a youth group can ski for an afternoon at Paoli Peaks and no one end up in the emergency room!!!!!

We had a blast yesterday skiing! We have some experienced ones, as well as some who put the skis and snowboards on for the first time! Some of us are a little bumped and bruised today… but all in all, we had a great time!

Busy January

January 4th, 2008

Hey all! Happy New Year!

They Teen Ministry is busy for the next couple of months. We currently have are taking registrations for Jr. High Believe which is Feb. 15-16th as well as CIY Discipleship for High schoolers. This trip is on Feb. 8-9th. All of these registration deadlines are due by January 20th, so if you want your teen to go, get ‘em signed up soon.

Both of these trips are going to be great! I hope to have a good turnout for each.

Also, starting January 13th, we will be opening up registrations for CIY. It is a High school week-long trip in Anderson, IN this summer, June 15th-19th. The cost for this trip is going to be around $250 mark, so for those who sign up, we will have registration deposits, monthly deposits, and possibly fund raising. So, be looking forward to that! CIY is one of the best weeks for Highschool students to grow deeper in their faith with God. Check them out at www.ciy.org/move/

Well, Keagan (my son) is here with me this morning and he says “K, Dad, its time to go to Burgerking” so I better go.

God Bless,

Dennis
